Would like to be able to answer from experience but unfortunately still too expensive to justify outlay, perhaps now that B&Q jumping on the bandwagon prices will drop and become a more affordable option.

Weel non but i know a bunch about it
First there are solar COLLETORS they use the sun’s heat to generate heat, they are usualy used to heat up watter and that is just about it.
Solar PANELS use the solar UV light to generate power. It is a dc current and usualy you need a big (very big) surface to meet the needs of just one home.
So you probably whant to research a bit more on the ways you can use the solar pannels. If you need them for a home use I recomend COLECTORS not pannels because watter waists a lot of electricity to be heated just 10 degrees

For about 15 years for about 15 years for about 15 years for solar panels to be staying in the cost.
